明末清初史笔与文笔的较量——以黄、吴《柳敬亭传》为例

The Battle between Historical Writing and Literary Writing in the Late Ming and Early Qing Dynasties——A Case Study on The Biography of Liu Jingting by Huang Zongxi and Wu Weiye

明末清初,有批文人不约而同地关注到一位名为柳敬亭的说书艺人,他们不仅为其作传,还借此引发了对文章之法的讨论,可谓文学史上值得关注的现象。通过比较以黄宗羲和吴伟业为代表的一批文人对柳敬亭生活经历的书写,可明显看出传记中存在“文人之笔”与“史家之笔”的创作倾向。这场文笔与史笔的较量具体体现在对柳敬亭的形象刻画、事件取舍以及作文之法的不同主张等方面。

In the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty,writers show great interest in a storyteller named Liu Jingting.They not only write biographies for him,but also have a debate on the method of writing.The writing of Liu Jingting’s life by those writers represented by Huang Zongxi and Wu Weiye reflects the creative tendency of literary writing and historical writing.The battle between literary writing and historical writing is manifested in the image portrayal of Liu Jingting,the selection of events,and the different views on the method of writing.
