Objective To analyze the clinical effect of direct resin filling and castable ceramic inlay in restoration of dental defects. Methods A total of 100 patients with tooth defects were randomly divided into the research group and the control group, with 50 patients in each group. The control group received direct resin filling for restoration, and the research group received castable ceramic inlay for restoration. The clinical effect, tooth percussion pain score, tooth loosening score and the quality of life score before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The total clinical effective rate was 92.00% in the research group, which was higher than 78.00% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the tooth percussion pain score(1.10±0.18) points and tooth loosening score(0.63±0.13) points of the research group were lower than(1.62±0.34) and(1.02±0.08) points of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the quality of life score of the research group was(89.12±3.47) points, which was higher than(80.41±4.21) points of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Castable ceramic inlay has good effect for restoration of tooth defects, and can reduce the patients’ tooth percussion pain and tooth loosening and improve their quality of life.
