The Context

作为一个指向“意义”的学科领域,民族音乐学和“语境(Context)”之间密切相关。民族音乐学界的语境概念与其在语言学、人类学、民俗学等学科中的定义有共通之处,它主要围绕以音乐(文本)或文化(语境)为研究主旨的学术论争而展开。纵然“研究文化语境中的音乐”已成为当前国内外民族音乐学界的普遍共识,但作为学科范式的关键词,语境并非仅是指名词性的“Context”,更是指向一种过程性、关系性、生成性、建构性和多样性的“语境化(Contextualization)”实践。语境既是一个研究领域,亦是作为一种理解“音乐与文化”之互动关系议题的重要认识论路径与方法论视角,它在中国学者不断探索与建构的过程中被赋予了更为丰富的文化意涵,并形成了中国民族音乐学的实践经验。

As a discipline field pointing to "meaning", ethnomusicology is closely related to "context". The concept of context in ethnomusicology has something in common with its definition in linguistics, anthropology, folklore and other disciplines. It mainly revolves around the academic debate with music(text) or culture(context) as the research theme. Although "studying music in cultural context" has become the common understanding of the current national musicology circles at home and abroad, as the key word of the discipline paradigm, context is not only a noun, but also a process, relationship, generation, construction and diversity of "contextualization" practice. Context is not only a research field, but also an important epistemological path and methodological perspective to understand the interactive relationship between "music and culture". It has been endowed with more rich cultural connotations in the process of continuous exploration and construction by Chinese scholars, and has formed the practical experience of Chinese ethnomusicology.
