《灵枢》时间相关表述英译研究

Chinese-English Translation of Time Expressions in Spiritual Pivot

通过对比分析《灵枢》中外译者的译文,从生理、病理、诊断和治疗四个方面,探讨《灵枢》时间表述英译策略与方法,提出以彰显语用价值为翻译目标,以归化为基础、以异化为方向的翻译策略。对于不同时间表述,除采用常用的直译、意译和音译方法外,还可采用补译、括号加注等方法传达中华特色文化。明晰原文所指并正确传译时间表述,有助于读者准确理解和把握中医时间医学信息,推动中医国际交流,促进中医学与现代医学融合发展。

This study compared the English versions of time expressions in Spiritual Pivot and discussed the translation strategies from the perspectives of physiology,pathology,diagnosis,and treatment.It was summarized that the translation strategies should be domestication as the basis and foreignization as the orientation to present the pragmatic value as the goal.In addition to the methods of literal translation,free translation,and transliteration,supplementary translation and notes in parentheses can be adopted to denote Chinese culture.Fully and correctly conveying the time expressions in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)classics has promising implications for promoting the understanding of TCM chronomedicine,the communication of medical information between China and the rest of the world,and the integrated development of TCM and modern medicine.
