After acute kidney injury(AKI), even though serum creatinine, urine volume and glomerular filtration rate return to normal, some patients still have different degrees of renal structure damage, which leads to incomplete or maladaptive repair, and finally progresses to chronic kidney disease(CKD). Early identification of this high-risk group is helpful to take timely intervention measures and improve the long-term prognosis of patients. Recent studies have found that the determination of biomarkers is helpful for early identification of patients at high risk of progression from AKI to CKD. Therefore, this article reviews the biomarkers related to progression from AKI to CKD.
