Objectives This study aims to investigate the application effect of problem-based teaching(PBL)method in the teaching ward rounds of hyperbaric oxygen medicine and explore a teaching ward round mode that is more suitable for the characteristics of hyperbaric oxygen medicine. Methods In this study,32 interns who performed clinical internships in the hyperbaric oxygen department of a hospital from March 1,2021 to May 31,2021 were selected as the research objects, and were randomly divided into two groups by the envelope method.16interns in the experimental group used PBL teaching rounds, and the other 16 interns in the control group used the traditional teaching rounds. The teaching effect was evaluated through assessment and questionnaire survey. Results The case analysis score of the experimental group was significantly higher than the score of the control group(88.4±3.5 versus 78.8±5.2,P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in basic knowledge scores between the two groups(85.9±3.6 versus 84.1±4.3,P>0.05).75%of the interns are very satisfied or relatively satisfied with the overall evaluation of the PBL method. Conclusions Problem-based teaching rounds can improve the case analysis ability of interns, exercise clinical thinking, and encourage interns to better grasp the diagnosis and treatment of common diseases in the hyperbaric oxygen department.
