Semiotic Interpretation of Father’s Back and Public Cultural Education

文化符号理论认为文化的本质在于符号,文化等同于人类的表征系统.因而,对于文化的研究,就是对于符号或人类使用的各种表征体系的研究.从符号学考察一部作品的文化价值,就是把作品纳入形成公共文化的表征体系和符号系统,来探讨作品对公共文化建设所发挥的作用.从文化符号学视角探究朱自清的《背影》,其承载和表征的伦理文化史、白话文学史、五四新文学思想革命史、中国散文文体史等内涵,不但能够感悟经典生成的历史文化环境,还能理解《背影》公共文化教育的价值.

As a modern classic prose,Father’s Back written by Zhu Ziqing has become an enduring selection of elementary education.This paper analyzes Father’s Back from the perspective of cultural semiotics,and explores the connotation of ethical and cultural history,vernacular literature history,the history of May 4th New Literature Revolution,and the history of Chinese prose style,thus people can not only comprehend the historical and cultural environment of the generation of classics but also understand the value of Father’s Back in public cultural education.
