丝绸之路与“路书”——以《邬坚巴传》为中心的讨论

The Silk Road and A Study of"Road Books"-A Discussion Focusing on the Biography of Ugyenpa Rinchenpe

“路书”是传统藏文历史典籍的分类体裁之一,与丝绸之路密切相关,其主要记述了中国西藏与周边民族及其相关国家的政治社会、历史地理、民俗文化等。文章以“路书”的典范之作《邬坚巴传》为个案,详细梳理了十三世纪西藏学者邬坚巴三次赴南亚的路线、所见所闻及对“他者”文化的思考,并就赴中原会见元朝皇帝忽必烈的情况也进行了论述。提出“路书”对于研究丝绸之路沿线历史文化、中国西藏与南亚地区的文化交流、中国边疆历史地理等方面重要的学术价值。

"Road books"are one of genres of the traditional Tibetan historical texts,which is closely related to the Silk Road.They mainly record the political,social,historical,geographical,folk and cultural status of Tibet and its neighboring ethnic groups and countries.A case study has been done on the Biography of Ugyenpa Rinchenpe,an exemplary work of"road books",especially on the routes of his three trips to South Asia taken by Ugyenpa,a Tibetan scholar in the 13thcentury,on what what he saw and heard,and on his reflections on the cultures of the"others"as well as on his description of the circumstances of his meeting with the Yuan emperor Kublai in cen⁃tral China."Road Books"has an important academic value for the study of the history and culture along the Silk Road,the cultural exchanges between China's Tibet and South Asia,and the history and geography of the Chi⁃nese frontier areas.
