论曹丕对王粲诗歌的评价

The Comment of Cao Pi on Wang Can’s Poetry

被刘勰视为建安七子之首的王粲,其诗歌在曹丕《典论·论文》《与吴质书》中的评价并不高,这与之后钟嵘、沈约、刘勰、萧纲等人对王粲诗歌评价颇高迥乎不同,体现出时代性、主观性的特点。就曹丕而言,认为王粲诗歌地位不高,与曹丕对主要文学成就表现在诗歌上的曹植的顾忌、对王粲的疏远、文人相轻、以“气”论文以及王粲诗歌存在经典化的历程等因素有关。

Wang Can was regarded by Liu Xie as the first of the seven talented writers of the Jian’an period, but his poetry was not highly evaluated in Cao Pi’s On Writing and The Letter to Wu Zhi.Cao Pi’s comment, quite different from other persons’ opinions, such as Zhong Rong, Shen Yue, Liu Xie, Xiao Gang etc, reflected the characteristics of the times and subjectivity.According to Cao Pi, the low status of Wang Can’s poetry was related to the following factors: Cao Pi’s concern about Cao Zhi, his estrangement from Wang Can, writers’ despising each other, the application of “Qi” to literary theory and the process of Wang Can’s poetry being classicized.
