Hu Kaiwen’s experience in differentiating and treating locally advanced breast cancer

胡凯文教授认为局部晚期乳腺癌的基本病机为邪火炽盛。由于其阴阳属性兼备,因而导致了局部与全身的不平衡状态,局部辨证多为阴阳俱盛,全身辨证多为阴阳两虚。临床诊疗中当内外同治,内治以调节气机、扶正为主,可选用越鞠丸、阳和汤加减,外治以攻邪及箍围并重。用药上重视药物性味,并根据病变情况选择适宜的剂型。

Professor Hu Kaiwen believes that the basic pathogenesis of locally advanced breast cancer is the blazing fire pathogen,which,having both yin and yang attributes,leads to the imbalance between the local and the whole body.Local syndromes of advanced breast cancer are mostly differentiated as the exuberance of both yin and yang,while the syndrome of the whole body is mostly differentiated as the deficiency of both yin and yang.In its clinical diagnosis and treatment,both internal and external treatments should be carried out simultaneously.The internal treatment should focus on regulating the qi movement and strengthening the body by employing modified Yueju Pills and Yanghe Decoction,while the external treatment should focus on eliminating pathogens and encircling lesions with drugs,paying attention to the natures and tastes of drugs and selecting the appropriate preparations according to the specific conditions.
