The teaching mode for“case study”takes the learning scheme as a carrier and the guided learning as a method, with the teachers functioning as directors and the students as subjects, highlighting the learning concepts of independence, cooperation and research on the part of the students. The integration of red culture resources from the northern part of Guangxi into the“case study”teaching mode of ideological and political courses in senior middle schools can not only enrich the teaching contents, but also help achieve the teaching objectives and tasks, thus promoting the cultivation of core competencies of the discipline for senior middle school students.By shedding light on the connotations and application values of the teaching mode for“case study”,the paper puts forward strategies for the utilization of the red cultural resources in it.The strategies go as follows:(1)integrating the red cultural resources into the design of the learning scheme so as to facilitate the achievement of the objectives and tasks;(2)incorporating the relevant experiential learning methods into the guided learning to enhance the teaching effect;(3)combining the red culture resources with the teachers’instructions to help students consolidate their knowledge and cultivate their core competencies;and(4)extending the reach of the red culture resources into the educational activities on campus and beyond to further implement the cultivation of students’core competencies.
