A Study on the Ritual Music Culture of Hubei Province in Qing Dynasty from the Perspective of Music Anthropology

清代湖北礼俗音乐首先涉及广袤的民间风俗中的音乐活动,包括岁时节日、宗教信仰和家礼仪式等;礼俗音乐也涉及官礼,其中又以释奠礼乐为重。中国博大却有着统一的文明特征,民俗中的音乐体现了节序同风的特色,家礼仪式与官礼有密切的关联。荆楚宗教自古厚重,儒释道的文化也深深影响湖北礼俗音乐发展。同时,作为长江流域的中心地带,水系文化对礼俗的影响,也是湖北礼俗音乐文化不可或缺的特征。

When it comes to the ritual music of Hubei province in Qing Dynasty, firstly it involves the music activities in the vast folk customs, such as the annual festivals, religious beliefs and family rituals. It also involves official rituals, among which the ritual music in worshipping the sages and teachers is of paramount significance. As Chinese civilization is extensive and unified, thus the music in folk customs reflects the characteristics of the same festival sequence, and the family ritual is closely related to the official rituals. Jingchu religious beliefs have been profound since ancient times, and the cultures of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism have also deeply affected the development of ritual music in Hubei province. Meanwhile, as the center of the Yangtze River basin, the culture of water system exerts a certain influence on its ritual customs that is also an indispensable feature of Hubei ritual music culture.
