为促进新文科建设实质性开展和行稳致远,有必要对其进行几点必要的冷思考。从本体论和概念源流来看,新文科并非新兴概念,而是早已有之;其内涵主要倡导学科交叉、文理交融、古今交汇、中外交通;一些研究文献对传统文科的指摘过于含混、对新文科建设的意见建议过于虚幻。从价值论方面来看,对新文科的功能不宜过分夸大;新文科建设,只能在传统文科基础上努力做到“守正出新”;任何高校的新文科建设都要量力而行。从方法论方面来看,“新文科”建设绝非仅是“新本科”建设,而应是内涵丰富的“新学科”或者“超学科”建设;另外,应谨慎对待那些“看起来很美”实则虚幻无章的新文科建设的意见建议。

It is necessary to carry out some indispensable cool thoughts on new liberal arts in order to promote the substantial development and steady progress of it.From the perspective of ontology and origins of the concept,new liberal arts is not a new concept,but has existed for a long time;Its connotation mainly advocates interdisciplinary,the integration of arts and sciences,the intersection of ancient and modern,and Sino-Foreign communication;Some research papers are too vague in their criticism of traditional liberal arts and too illusory in their suggestions on the construction of new liberal arts.From the perspective of axiology,the function of the new liberal arts should not be overstated.The construction of new liberal arts can only be achieved innovation with sticking to inheritance on the basis of traditional liberal arts;The construction of new liberal arts in any university should be combined with actual situation and should be done according to its comprehensive strength.From the perspective of methodology,the construction of"new liberal arts"is not only the construction of"new undergraduate",but also the construction of“new disciplines”or“super disciplines”with rich connotation.In addition,we should be cautious about those"look wonderful"but actually illusory and unorganized suggestions on new liberal arts construction.
