An outstanding contemporary Chinese poet,Feng Gangyi has a rather important place among groups of new migrant poets in Macao as he has written over ten thousand poems or ci in the classical style and the theme of his poetry or ci is varied in style and genre.Writing poetry or ci is his instinct for existence,a way of recording his life and expressing his thought,as his poetic creation is mainly for the record and strongly autobiographical.His poetic work is completely correspondent with his life,a poeticization of life in essence.Feng Gangyi’s life choice and character formation are both influenced by the traditional Chinese culture-particularly deeply influenced by the classical poetry and ci,which makes up his poetic life.Feng Gangyi views poetry or ci in the classical style as a form of life and he took the initiative in promoting it and making an important contribution to the continuing and carrying forward of the modern life of poetry or ci in the classical style.Feng Gangyi is a classical style kind of poet walking in a modern society,re-shaping himself with the spirit of the traditional culture and realm and writing about life with the poetic language.As poetry or ci increases the thickness of his life,his poetry has also rejuvenated poetry or ci in the classical style in the modern society.
