白先勇小说与音乐的互文性解读

摘要 白先勇在小说中常常引用歌曲名称或歌词内容,化用音乐典故,借音乐来抒情、烘托氛围、象征暗示人物的心境与命运,音乐参与着白先勇小说意义与形式的建构,使小说呈现出含蓄蕴藉的朦胧美,成为小说富有表现力的有机成分之一。上海时代曲、台湾民谣、外国音乐共同建构了白先勇的音乐感知系统,每一种音乐书写中,白先勇都将自身与音乐有关的独特生命体验融入其中,音乐与小说人物、作家人生相互指涉,暗含白先勇对生命、离散的感悟。上海时代曲承载着上海时代的繁华往事,也携带着战争与流离的创伤性记忆;富含台湾本土特色的台湾民谣与哭调倾注了白先勇对宿命般的悲惨人生的关照;外国音乐书写则展示着在流离、追寻中的自我放逐与自我安置,蕴含着他复杂的、变迁的中国性认知。 In his fiction,Pai Hsien-yung often alludes to music by quoting from song titles or contents of the lyrics,and relies on music for lyricism by setting off the ambience and symbolizing the characters’state of mind or fate,with music taking part in the formation of meaning and form in Pai’s fiction,with the result that the fiction has a subtle misty beauty and becomes a component of its expressiveness.Together,pop songs of Shanghai,Taiwan folksongs and foreign songs have constructed Pai’s sense of music and sensory system as in every piece of his musical writings,Pai put his own unique life experience associated with music in it where music and fictional characters and the writer’s life mutually refer to each other,implying Pai’s comprehension of life and dispersal.The pop songs of Shanghai carried the past prosperity of the Shanghai times as well as the traumatic memories of war and homelessness.The Taiwan Residents folksongs and weeping tones,typical of the Taiwan Residents locality,are things into which Pai poured his concern for the fatalistic,tragic life,whereas the writing with foreign music shows the self-exile and self-settlement in dispersal and pursuit,containing his complex and shifting Chinese cognition.
