Relays are widely used in urban rail vehicles.As the main component of vehicle control logic,its quality has great influence on vehicle quality.The standards and working environment requirements of relays for urban rail vehicles were listed,and the determination of relay load characteristics was introduced.The matters needing attention when selecting relay were described in detail,including the choice of contact material and contact form should be decided according to the requirements of practical application,the auxiliary arc extinguishing device was not necessary for the relay,but it had great power to improve the life of the relay.And the magnetic circuit system,contact system and housing and other components were analyzed,which provided reference for adapting the selected relay to the circuit environment.
