隔代照料孙子女与老年人生活幸福感

Caring Grandchildren and the Happiness of the Elderly

利用201 1年、2013年和2015年“中国健康与养老追踪调查”(CHARLS)数据,构建序次Probit模型研究隔代照料孙子女与老年人生活幸福感之间的关系,运用工具变量估计缓解内生性,多重中介效应模型探究影响机制。研究结果表明:隔代照料孙子女能够提升老年人生活幸福感,但较强的隔代照料强度会降低老年人幸福感;与子女同住的老年人隔代照料对幸福感的提升更大,有子女代际支持的老年人隔代照料对幸福感的提升更小;隔代照料会通过改善老年人的身体健康和心理健康状况提升生活幸福感,其中通过心理健康改善幸福感的效应更大。

Based on the data of China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS) in 2011,2013 and 2015,this paper constructs an Ordinal Probit Model to study the relationship between the grandparenting and happiness of the elderly.We use Instrumental Variable Estimation to alleviate endogeneity,and Multiple Mediating Effect Model to explore the influence mechanism.The results show that grandparenting can improve the happiness of the elderly,but excessive grandparenting will reduce the happiness of the elderly;Grandparenting for the elderly living with their children has a greater impact on their happiness.Grandparenting for the elderly with children’s support has less effect on their happiness;Grandparenting can improve the well-being of life of the elderly by improving their physical and mental health,and the effect of improving happiness through mental health is greater.
