On the Anbian Office in the Southern Song Dynasty

安边所是创立于南宋中后期,用于管理国有田地、财富的机构,也是支撑晚宋财政的重要机构之一。在宋代后期的历史记述之中,常常可以看见有关安边所的描述及评价。宋季时期,安边所所辖的资财丰厚、资产分布地域也较为广泛,所属财富及收入则被朝廷用于支撑国用及招揽人心,其日常运作也与晚宋的士风及制度有着紧密的联系。

The Anbian Office was founded in the middle and late Southern Song Dynasty to manage state-owned fields and wealth. It is also one of the important office supporting the finances of the late Song Dynasty. In the historical records of the late Song Dynasty, you can often see the description of the Anbian Office. During the late Song Dynasty, the Anbian Office was rich in capital and distributed in a wider area, the wealth and income was used by the imperial court to support national use and attract people’s hearts. Its daily operation is closely associated with practice of the scholar and system in the late Song Dynasty.
