Taking Historical Initiative to Promote Major-Country Diplomacy with Chinese Characteristics

中国共产党二十大开启了全面建设社会主义现代化国家新征程,号召全党同志坚定历史自信,增强历史主动,谱写新时代中国特色社会主义更加绚丽的华章。进入新时代,在习近平外交思想指引下,中国特色大国外交取得了全方位、开创性成就,中国国际影响力、感召力、塑造力显著提升。习近平总书记将中国特色大国外交视为一种具有高度主体性和能动性的创造活动,强调把握历史主动,而崇高的价值追求、坚定的历史自觉和科学的方法路径是其生成逻辑。在全面建设社会主义现代化国家新征程上,我们要认真贯彻落实党的二十大精神,进一步发扬历史主动精神,立足于把自己事情做好,增强对于外部环境的塑造能力、推动和平与发展,努力构建新型国际关系、坚持对外开放,参与全球治理体系的改革和建设、加强文明对话,推动构建人类命运共同体,打破历史决定论和宿命论,全面推进中国特色大国外交,促进世界和平与发展,为实现第二个百年奋斗目标营造良好外部环境。

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC) starts a new journey to build a modernized socialist country in all respects, calling on all the CPC comrades to remain confident in our history,exhibit greater historical initiative, and write a more magnificent chapter for socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. Entering the new era, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, we have pursued majorcountry diplomacy with Chinese characteristics on all fronts with remarkable achievements, and China’s international influence, appeal, and power to shape have risen significantly. Xi Jinping regards major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics as a creative activity with a high degree of subjectivity and activeness, with the emphasis on the grasp of historical initiative. On the new journey toward building a modern socialist country in all respects, we must implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, and further develop the spirit of historical initiative, advance major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics on all fronts, enhance world peace and development, and create a favorable external environment for realizing the Second Centenary Goal.
