The Irish Diary is selected as the study object to analyze from the perspective of ecocriticism,and analyze the natural ecologicalism thought contained in Boll’s works.The author has a keen insight into the ecological problems that frequently occur in our society today.By putting it into writing,he warns against such problems in modern civilization,which reflects the author’s natural ecological views.The rapid economic development in Germany’s industrialization period has caused serious deterioration of the ecological environment.This social reality and Boll’s personal concern for ecological problems make his works contain rich ecological ideas.
