摘要
认知符号学是20世纪90年代初新兴的跨学科,旨在探索意义的多方面现象,它的兴起受到了认知语言学的启发。本文首先以“三个轴线”和“三个层面”为线索回顾了认知语言学的发展,随后又论述了从认知语言学到认知符号学的过渡,并说明了认知符号学所具有的学科独特性和拓展性,最后阐述了认知符号学的哲学基础和两个主要的符号与意义的生成观。本文的目的是说明认知符号学研究的重要性和必要性,并提出我们未来的研究有必要从认知语言学转向认知符号学,这是因为认知语言学的研究对象主要聚焦于语言,而认知符号学的研究不局限于语言,它从更广泛的范围探讨了各种符号和意义生成的认知过程。
Cognitive semiotics is a new transdisciplinary field which emerged in the early 1990 s,seeking to explore multi-aspects of meaning.Its emergence was inspired by cognitive linguistics.Firstly,this paper reviews the development of cognitive linguistics in terms of "three axes " and "three dimensions".Then the paper discusses the transition from cognitive linguistics to cognitive semiotics and illustrates its uniqueness and extension.Finally,it elaborates the philosophical basis of cognitive semiotics and two main views on how signs and meanings are made.The paper attempts to highlight the importance and necessity of cognitive semiotics.It proposes a shift from cognitive linguistics to cognitive semiotics,based on the argument that cognitive linguistics mainly focuses on language,whereas cognitive semiotics explores the generation of signs and meanings from a broader scope.
