The Evolution of University Culture and Its Thoughts:A Historical Review

我国大学的发展历程,是大学文化建设及大学文化思想不断成熟和完善的过程。我国大学健康发展及举世瞩目的长足进步是大学文化及其思想不断引领的结果。随着对大学文化之价值认识的逐渐深化及由此演进而成的大学文化思想的不断成熟,大学文化及其思想已然发展成为指导大学办学治校育人的理性自觉。研究发现,经由40余载的发展历史积淀,我国的大学文化完成了自“校园文化”之兴起、经“人文素质教育”之高潮、沉淀于“大学文化”之成熟的过程,历经了注重校园文化建设、注重人文素质教育及注重大学文化整体建设的三大发展阶段。作为引导大学文化发展及大学文化建设实践的理论体系,大学文化思想包括大学文化育人思想、大学文化治校思想和大学文化强国思想三个层面。大学文化思想的成熟与升华,引领着我国高等教育改革发展和高质量高等教育体系建设。

The development of China’s universities indicates that the country’s university culture experienced a process from its construction to its development,and that the country’s university culture-based thoughts experienced a process from their gradual maturity to their improvement.The healthy development and remarkable progress of China’s universities resulted from the gradual maturity of university culture and its thoughts.With the deepened understanding of university culture’s value and the gradual maturity of university culture-based thoughts,university culture and its thoughts have developed into a rational and automatic guide to university governance and talent cultivation.This study finds that over the past four decades China’s university culture has accomplished the process from the rise of"campus culture"to the prosperity of"humanistic education"and to the maturity of"university culture,"and has experienced three stages of development:focusing on campus culture,emphasizing humanistic education,and concentrating on the overall development of university culture.As a theoretical system guiding the development of university culture and the practice of university culture construction,university culture-based thoughts include three aspects:cultural education,cultural governance,and the culture-based building of a powerful country.Tending to become mature,China’s university culture-based thoughts lead the reform and development of China’s higher education,and the construction of the high-quality higher education system.
