多元族裔身份的自由追寻与种族歧视——对《东方女孩想浪漫》的思考

Free Pursuit and Racial Discrimination on Multi-Ethnic Identity——Reflections on Oriental Girl Wants Romance

在北美华裔女作家中,很多是基于其本身的经历,在小说创作过程中,都将多元族裔身份的自由追寻作为小说的主题。以《东方女孩想浪漫》为例,从多元族裔身份的追寻角度,思考该篇小说的内涵与目的,该作品“意识流”的写作技巧,展现了作者的理想与浪漫,但在美国白人至上种族观念下屡屡受挫,文化性无法战胜种族的肤色。

Many Chinese American women writers in North America,based on their own experiences,take the free pursuit of multi-ethnic identity as the theme of their novels in the novel creation.By taking Oriental Girls Want to Romance as an example,this paper discusses the connotation and purpose of the novel from the perspective of pursuing multi-ethnic identity,finds that“stream of consciousness”,which is the writing technique in this work,can show the author’s ideal and romance,but has been repeatedly frustrated by the racial concept of white supremacy in the United States,and shows that cultural nature cannot overcome racial color.
