Digital Economy, Spatial Effect and Common Prosperity

实现共同富裕是社会主义的本质要求,是中国式现代化的重要特征。本文聚焦数字经济与共同富裕两大发展战略,构建了省级层面的共同富裕指数,并基于2011—2020年我国30个省市区的面板数据分析了数字经济对共同富裕的空间影响。研究发现:(1)中国省级的共同富裕呈现出了显著的空间正相关性;(2)数字经济不仅对本地区的共同富裕有正向作用,由于空间溢出效应,对相邻地区的共同富裕也产生了正向影响;(3)数字经济对富裕度和共同度的空间溢出效应差异较大,数字经济所带动的富裕度的空间溢出效应占总效应的比重在三种空间权重矩阵下均超过了70%,呈现出了“以邻为睦”的景象,而不管是地理上还是经济上的邻近地区,数字经济对共同度的空间溢出效应在统计上均不显著。

Achieving common prosperity is the essential requirement of socialism and an important feature of Chinese-style modernization. This paper focused on two major development strategies of digital economy and common prosperity, and constructed the provincial common prosperity index. Based on the panel data of 30 provinces from 2011 to 2020, the paper empirically analyzed the spatial impact of digital economy on common prosperity. The results were as follows.(1)China’s provincial common prosperity had a significant spatial positive correlation.(2)Digital economy not only had a positive effect on local common prosperity, but also had a positive effect on the common prosperity of neighboring regions due to the spatial spillover effect.(3)There were great differences in the spatial spillover effect of digital economy on affluence and commonality. The proportion of the spatial spillover effect of affluence driven by digital economy in the total effect was more than 70% under the three types of spatial weight matrices, showing the scene of“harmony with neighbors”. However, the spatial spillover effect of digital economy on commonality was not statistically significant in either geographical or economic neighboring areas.
