[Purpose/significance]The national defense S&T information work is an important foundation to support the strategic management of national defense S&T innovation and service national defense S&T strategic management.[Method/process]Defined the concept of national defense S&T information work mechanism in complex information environment,and construct the cognitive framework of national defense S&T information work mechanism in complex information environment,and analyzed the system mechanism from target,category and type,analyzed the factors mechanism from the demand,subject,content,method,product and mechanism.Analyzed the process mechanism from requirements,data mining,comprehensive judgment and feedback,analyzed the functional mechanism from scanning monitoring,forward-looking prediction,pilot planning,decision support and cognitive confrontation,analyzed the knowledge mechanism from information acquisition,knowledge processing and knowledge updating.[Result/conclusion]The conclusion can help to understand national defense S&T information work in complex information environment,and provided reference for further advance related work.
