The paper indicates the protection of the historical and cultural blocks are the current priority for the historical and cultural heritages protection system in China, indicates the municipal infrastructure should be improved to promote the block environment to meet the demands of the physical and spiritual demands of modern life in the renovation and restoration for the blocks, undertakes the protective planning and creative practice for the municipal pipelines of historical and cultural blocks, and illustrates the safe, efficient and accurate engineering pipeline layout scheme can be adopted with the premise of meeting the demands for protecting the cultural relics, historical buildings and environment, and efficiently solves the problems in the water supply, drainage and engineering pipeline layout of the narrow streets, so as to provide some reference for the maintenance of traditional landscapes of the historical and cultural blocks.
