New Research Materials about Xiong Foxi Emerged

熊佛西是著名的剧作家和戏剧教育家,上海戏剧学院首任院长。我们在编辑《熊佛西文集》的过程中,发现了一批关于他的鲜为人知的文献资料,主要有连载于1933年1月8日至1935年2月17日《北平晨报》的《戏剧周刊》中的自传《我的戏剧生活》、1921年11月首发于《东南日报》的剧本《新人的生活》、熊佛西主办的始于1930年12月21日止于1937年7月10日的完整的《戏剧周刊》,以及其他一些反映熊佛西文化艺术活动与审美趣味的文献资料。特择要披露,公示学林,以飨读者。

Xiong Fuxi, a famous playwright and drama educator, is the first president of the Shanghai Theater Academy. While compiling Xiong Fuxi’s Collected Works, we discovered some unknown materials including “The Autobiography of My Dramatic Life” serialized in “Drama Weekly”, Peking Morning Post from January 8, 1933 to February 17, 1935, the script of Life of a Newcomer first published on Southeast Daily in November 1921, his Drama Weekly from December 21, 1930 to July 10, 1937, and other materials showing Xiong Foxi’s artistic activities and aesthetic tastes. Here, we have selected some material for those who are interested.
