Changes and Potential Challenges of Sports Participation in the Metaverse Technology Environment

元宇宙是基于多种新兴技术创设的映射现实物理世界的虚拟世界,它集区块链、云计算、人工智能、数字孪生以及各种可穿戴智能设备等软、硬件技术之大成。依托AR(增强现实)、VR(虚拟现实)、MR(混合现实)等高端技术,今后将迎来“体育+信息技术”的发展趋势。在元宇宙环境下,体育课程教学、竞技运动训练、全民运动健身及体育传播方式将得以重构,为人们体育参与的形式开辟新空间。但元宇宙正处于发展初期,在带给体育新发展图景的同时,也要注意规避元宇宙可能对体育本质、法律法规以及道德伦理带来的挑战。该研究在元宇宙环境背景下,对人们体育参与方式的变革以及可能产生的一些潜在挑战进行探讨,为人们更好地参与体育活动提供相关的理论支持和参考。

The metaverse is a virtual world that maps the real physical world based on a variety of emerging technologies.It integrates software and hardware technologies such as blockchain,cloud computing,artificial intelligence,digital twins,and various wearable smart devices and relies on high-end technologies such as AR(augmented reality),VR(virtual reality),and MR(mixed reality),and it will become the development trend of "sports+information technology".In the metaverse environment,the way of physical education course teaching,competitive sports training,national sports fitness and sports communication will be reconstructed,opening up a new space for people’s sports participation.However,the metaverse is in the early stages of development,and while it brings a new development picture to sports,it is necessary to pay attention to avoiding the challenges that the metaverse may bring to the nature of sports,legal compliance and morality and ethics.Under the background of metaverse environment,this study discusses the changes in people’s sports participation methods and some potential challenges that may arise,so as to provide relevant theoretical support and reference for people to better participate in sports activities.
