The Construction of Words: Advances in Construction Morphology uses the theory of Construction Morphology(CM) to effectively explain morphological phenomena such as multiple representations, phrase words, which are difficult to explain with general morphological theories. Through the analysis of morphological phenomena in specific language, it fully confirms the effectiveness of morphological analysis methods of CM. In terms of application, the book shows that linguists study morphological phenomena in multiple languages from the perspective of CM. In terms of idea, the book shows that CM is no longer pays attention to the boundaries of words and phrases, compounding and derivation, and focuses on the hierarchical schemas. In terms of method, CM makes full use of word-based approach. The book provides useful enlightenment for Chinese morphology, comparison of Chinese and foreign morphology, and morphological research from the perspective of typology.
