周作人对乡贤著作的发掘与利用

The Discovery and Use of County Squires’Works of Zhou Zuoren

自少年时期开始,周作人便在乡土意识与时代思潮的双重影响下搜集与整理了以明清为中心、雅俗两种类型的乡贤著作。这些乡贤著作为周作人创作新文学和建构文学史谱系提供了重要资源:一方面,乡贤著作为周作人的散文创作提供了丰富的材料与有益的启示;另一方面,乡贤及其著作为周作人不同时期的文学史建构提供了关键的坐标与有力的例证。正是在个人与地方、传统与现代的互动中,周作人不断地从乡贤著作中发掘新的文学资源与文学史谱系,为新文学提供了既旧又新的特质。

Since his adolescence,Zhou Zuoren has collected and sorted out the works of the rural sages,elegant and vulgar,especially those which had appeared in the Ming and Qing dynasties,under the dual influence of local consciousness and the trend of the times.These county squires’works provide vital resources for Zhou Zuoren to create new literature and construct a literary history genealogy:on the one hand,those works provide rich materials and useful enlightenments for his prose creation;on the other hand,the county squires and their writings provide key coordinates and powerful examples for the construction of literary history in different periods.It is precisely in the interaction between the individual and the locality,tradition and modernity that Zhou Zuoren constantly explores new literary resources and literary history genealogy from the works of county squires,thereby defining the old and new features of new literature.
