An Attemptive Research on Ottoman Empire’s Early Modern Military Revolution

军事革命是世界近代史上意义重大的一个历史现象、事件和进程,奥斯曼帝国所经历的军事革命是其中一个重要组成部分。本文通过对两个具有底层性的基础理论问题的探讨,明确了近代早期军事革命的定义与判断标准。而后,通过火药、火器的生产、制造,火器装备军队,军制与战术、战法创新等层面,分析了近代早期奥斯曼帝国军事革命的具体内容,以及它在军事领域之外产生的外溢性影响。

The Early Modern Military Revolution was a great historical phenomenon, event and process, and Ottoman Empire’s military revolution in this period was part of it. This article investigated two fundamental and basic questions, and through them, made clear of the definition and judging criteria of the Early Modern Military Revolution. Then, through different levels, for example, the production and manufacturing of gunpowder and firearms, the equipment of armies with firearms, and innovations of military systems, tactics and fighting methods, this article analyzes the concrete content of Ottoman’s military revolution in the Early Modern Period, and its wide-ranging effects beyond the military field.
