French Socialists and the Colonization of North Africa - A Case Study of Jean Jaurès and the Moroccan Question

20世纪初的摩洛哥问题不仅是摩洛哥逐渐沦为殖民地的问题,也与第一次世界大战前的欧洲局势息息相关。法国社会主义者让·饶勒斯在长达十年的时间里留下了大量有关该问题的评论。从以国际关系为核心的政治视角和反殖民主义视角这两个角度来考察饶勒斯对摩洛哥问题的关注,一方面可以梳理并呈现法国殖民摩洛哥的过程,另一方面能够挖掘该过程对饶勒斯社会主义思想的影响。

The Moroccan question in the early 20th century was not only a question of Morocco’s gradual colonization, but also closely related to the situation in Europe before the First World War. French socialist Jean Jaurès has left a lot of comments on this issue for ten years. This article examines Jaurès’s concern for the Moroccan question from the perspectives of international politics and anti-colonialism. In this way, it presents the process of French colonization of Morocco, and on the other hand discusses the influence of this process on Jaures’ socialist thought.
