Based on the brain-bone interaction perspective.Exploring the association between depression and osteoporosis by means of exercise intervention.Depression and osteoporosis are two major chronic degenerative diseases that affect the biological function of the body.Based on the brain-bone interaction perspective, there is a potential mutual regulation between them.Depression can develop from stress hormonal changes, inflammatory cytokine crosstalk, antidepressants, comorbid disorders and other factors. They can induce an increase in depressive symptoms.Depressive behavior leads to degradation of bone microarchitecture and induces the development of osteomalacia/osteoporosis.Exercise mediates the antidepressant effect while leading to a significant improvement in bone mass.Osteoporosis causes a decrease in osteogenesis and an increase in osteolytic capacity, resulting in increased breakdown of bone microstructure,a decrease in bone quality and an induced deterioration of physical functions.Osteoporosis triggers depressed mood and depressive behavioral changes.Exercise relieves bone turnover, improves bone quality and causes an increase in bone secretion levels.Through the blood circulation into the brain tissue,it improves depressive symptoms.Exercise also relieves psychological emotions.
