Changing with the Times:The Coming of Metaverse Reading Era

技术发展影响人类生活,其中媒介演进将人类阅读从口传时代带入纸媒时代、引领至数字时代,而元宇宙代表的“新媒介”又将开启阅读的新时代。文章梳理阅读研究新转向,从媒介变迁中阅读嬗变视角探讨元宇宙阅读与传统阅读之间的关系;通过对比不同时代阅读之变,阐释元宇宙阅读在阅读内容与创作方式、阅读资源表现形式、感知途径、分享传播与版权保护等方面的证据与特征,提供元宇宙阅读时代已悄然来临的线索。文章既从内容生成、推广传播、公民素养角度提出探索元宇宙时代阅读服务的建议,也从技术、作品与读者角度预判相关风险。元宇宙阅读机遇与风险并存,阅读之变应引起重视。

Technology affects human life profoundly. With the evolution of media, human reading has gone through from the oral instruction era to paper media era and to digital era. The "new media" represented by metaverse will open up a new reading era. This paper attempts to explore the relationship between metaverse reading and traditional reading by sorting out the new direction of reading research in recent years from the perspective of reading evolution in media changes. By comparing the changes of reading in different times,the study explains the characteristics and evidence of the metaverse reading in five aspects: reading content and creation method,reading resource forms,ways of perception,sharing,and copyright protection,and demonstrates the clues that metaverse reading era has quietly arrived. It puts forward the suggestions for the development of metaverse reading services from the perspectives of content generation,promotion and dissemination,and civic literacy. It predicts the risks from the perspectives of technology,works and readers. There are opportunities and risks in metaverse reading,and attention should be paid to the changes.
