Influence of Family Intergenerational Support on Labor Migration——Empirical Analysis Based on the Data of CFPS

以2016年和2018年中国家庭追踪调查数据为样本,实证研究了家庭代际支持对子代劳动力迁移和子代迁移后主观福祉的影响。研究发现,代际支持能够有效提高子代迁移后的主观福祉,但囿于家庭禀赋和父母随迁障碍,来源地的父代支持将转化为子代迁移的机会成本,成为子代迁移的阻力,最终导致经济支持对子代迁移呈非线性影响,而劳务支持对子代迁移则存在抑制作用;“疏离型”和“亲密型”家庭的子代迁移概率最高,但后者迁移后的主观福祉显著高于前者。

Based on the data of China Family Panel Studies 2016 and 2018, this paper empirically studied the impact of family intergenerational support on offspring’s labor migration and the subjective well-being after migration. The study found that intergenerational support could effectively improve the subjective well-being of offspring after their migration. However, due to the barriers of family endowment and the migration of parents, parental support in the place of origin could translate into the opportunity cost for offspring’s migration, which has been the resistance of their offspring’s migration. Eventually, the economic support of parents had a nonlinear effect on offspring’s migration, while labor support had a restraining effect on offspring’s migration. The offspring’s migration in both “alienative”and “intimate”families had the highest probability, but the subjective well-being of the latter was significantly higher than that of the former after their migration.
