The security technologies in 2G cannot satisfy the people's requirement anymore. So the more advanced security is required when the technology of the mobile communication develops. In this article the authors labor for the improvement on user identity confidentiality, authentication and key agreement as well as the data integrity, and also try to make it possible to keep functions of both 2G and 3G on the basis of comparing the security technology in 2G with that in 3G.
