Stress Behavior and Its Influencing Factors of Cat during Going-out

为了系统探明家猫外出期间应激行为的发生规律及其影响因素,本研究通过微信小程序筛选到健康且外出时至少发生一种应激行为的家猫222只,并调研了这些猫外出期间10种应激行为的发生情况,采用卡方检验和多因素Logistic回归分析了品种、性别、绝育状态、年龄、外出场景对外出应激行为发生率的影响。结果表明:家猫外出期间喵喵惊叫、躲藏发生率较高(63.1%,40.5%);相比英短猫、没有绝育猫,田园猫、绝育猫喵喵惊叫发生率分别极显著或显著升高(70.9%vs.47.3%,P<0.01;68.3%vs.53.2%,P<0.05),年龄(>2岁,≤2岁)、外出场景(室内,室外)对家猫喵喵惊叫发生率有影响趋势(71.1%vs.58.9%,P<0.1;75.6%vs.60.2%,P<0.1);相比外出室内测试场景家猫、≤2岁家猫,外出室外测试场景家猫、>2岁家猫躲藏、眼睛睁大/瞳孔放大发生率分别显著升高(43.6%vs.26.8%,P<0.05;40.8%vs.27.4%,P<0.05);田园猫相比英短猫、室内测试场景家猫相比室外测试场景家猫、室内测试场景田园猫相比室外测试场景田园猫和室内外测试场景英短猫,外出喵喵惊叫发生风险分别升高157%、131%、324%(P<0.01,P<0.05,P<0.01)。结果表明,家猫外出时容易发生喵喵惊叫、躲藏的应激行为,室内测试场景的田园猫外出发生喵喵惊叫的风险极高,这些结果可以提示猫主人带猫外出时应采取措施减少家猫外出应激。

In order to systematically explore the incidence and influencing factors of stress behavior of domestic cats during going-out,222 healthy domestic cats with at least one kind of stress behavior during going-out were selected through We Chat application,and the incidence of 10 kinds of stress behaviors of these cats during going-out was investigated.Chi square test and multivariate logistic regression were used to analyze the effect of breed,sex,sterilization status,age and going-out scene on the incidence of stress behaviors.The results showed that when the domestic cats went out,the incidence of meowing was the highest among the stress behaviors observed(63.1%),with the follow-up incidence of hiding(40.5%).Compared with the British Short and the not-sterilized cat,the incidence of meowing in the Chinese Li Hua and the sterilized cat was highly significantly or significantly increased respectively(70.9%vs.47.3%,P<0.01;68.3%vs.53.2%,P<0.05),age(>2 years old,≤2 years old)and going-out scenes(indoor,outdoor)had a tendency to influence the incidence of meowing in domestic cat(71.1%vs.58.9%,P<0.1;75.6%vs.60.2%,P<0.1)during going-out.Compared with domestic cats in the indoor test scene and cats of≤2 years old,the incidence of hiding,eyes/pupils dilation for domestic cats in outdoor test scenes and that of>2 years old increased significantly(43.6%vs.26.8%,P<0.05;40.8%vs.27.4%,P<0.05),respectively.The risk of meowing in Chinese Li Hua cat,domestic cats in indoor test scenes,and Chinese Li Hua cat in indoor test scenes were increased by 157%,131%,and 324%respectively(P<0.01,P<0.05,P<0.01).The results showed that domestic cats are prone to meowing and hiding during going-out.Chinese Li Hua cats in the indoor test scene are at high risk of meowing when they go out.These results remind cat owners to take measures to reduce stress response when taking their cats out,which will benefit cat owners and their cats.
