Blood purification,particularly for renal disease therapy,involves hemodialysis,hemofiltration,hemoperfusion,plasma exchange and immunoadsorption,etc.It is a process which extracts the patient’s blood,followed by passing it through a purification device to remove some toxinic molecules.Among various types of hemopurification means,the physical/chemical adsorption mediated toxins clearance method is the most generalized.Functional porous materials with well-elaborated porosity,considerable surface area,and specific surface groups are critical as adsorbents.The past decades have witnessed some promising applications in water treatment,gas separation and catalytic reaction.However,when referring to the domain of blood purification,merely large adsorption capacity is not competent for adsorbents.
