Upholding a Global Vision: Thoughts on China’s Global Strategy from the Report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China

世界经历百年未有之大变局,面对逆风逆水的外部环境,在精准研判形势和坚守底线思维的基础上,二十大报告指明新时代中国的全球战略目标任务是以中国式现代化全面推进中华民族伟大复兴,推动构建人类命运共同体。在对外工作中,中国的战略目标是实现国际地位和影响进一步提高,在全球治理中发挥更大作用。中国式现代化要求以和平发展作为贯彻全球战略的行动指南,以深化拓展全球伙伴关系、推动建设开放型世界经济和积极参与全球治理体系改革与建设作为贯彻全球战略的重要保障,并以落实全球安全倡议和全球发展倡议等具体措施作为贯彻全球战略的根本落脚点。

At present,the world has experienced profound changes unseen in a century. Facing the external environment against the current,on the basis of accurately judging the situation and adhering to the bottom-line thinking,the report of the 20th National Congress of CPC pointed out that China’s global strategic goal in the new era is to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through the Chinese Path to Modernization and to build a global community with a shared future. In diplomatic work,China’s strategic goal is to further enhance its international status and influence,and play a greater role in global governance. The Chinese Path to Modernization requires the implementation of the global strategic action guidelines through peaceful development. Deepening and expanding global partnership,promoting the construction of an open world economy,and actively participating in the reform and construction of the global governance system are important for the implementation of China’s global strategy. The fundamental foothold for the strategy is to promote the implementation of concrete measures such as the Global Security Initiative and the Global Development Initiative.
