姚崇妻郑嬿墓志考略

A Study of the Epitaph of ZHENG Yan,the Wife of YAO Chong

唐宰相姚崇继室郑嬿墓志近年出土于洛阳万安山南麓。郑嬿出身大族荥阳郑氏,婚配甲族姚崇。郑嬿对前任留下的两个孩子姚彝、姚异,待如己出。姚崇加太中大夫和银青光禄大夫两个文散官爵,在两《唐书》及《姚崇神道碑》等碑志中都未提及,今赖《郑嬿墓志》可以较为准确地断定这两次加官的时间。郑嬿封号也因“夫贵妻荣”而晋升为郑国夫人,荣贵之极。

The epitaph of ZHENG Yan,the second wife of YAO Chong,the famed prime minister of the Tang Dynasty,was uncovered on the southern slope of the Wan′an Mountain in Luoyang in recent years,which shed some new light on YAO Chong′s family.Born into the influential ZHENG family in Xingyang,ZHENG Yan,getting married to YAO Chong and treating YAO′s two sons as her own,was conferred as the Lady of ZHENG due to the distinguished status of her husband,YAO Chong,the Prime Minister then who was also conferred as Senior Grand Master of the Palace(太中大夫)and the Grand Master of the Palace with Silver Seal and Green Ribbon(银青光禄大夫).This was not recorded either in the two Books of Tang or the Sacred Tombstone Tablets of YAO Chong.ZHENG Yan′s epitaph gave account of the specific time of the YAO′s conferment and other detailed information.
