The "Belt and Road" Initiative Empowers Common Prosperity——Based on the Perspective of Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind

党的二十大报告中提出“促进世界和平与发展,推动构建人类命运共同体”,其中“一带一路”倡议作为承载构建人类命运共同体理念的具体实践,是否能促进参与国之间和国内的共同富裕?基于多期双重差分法(DID)和倾向得分匹配双重差分法(PSM-DID)实证检验了“一带一路”倡议对区域国家间和国家内共同富裕的影响效应及其影响机制。研究结果发现“,一带一路”倡议对区域国家间收入差距和国内收入差距有明显的缩小作用,稳健性检验验证了该结论。异质性检验结果表明,“一带一路”倡议对海上丝绸之路的国家以及与中国有自贸协定的国家的作用较大,对陆上丝绸之路和非自贸协定的国家影响较小。影响机制的实证结果表明,贸易渠道的影响效果大于直接投资渠道。基于上述研究结论,为更好地推进“一带一路”倡议和人类命运共同体建设,应持续推动建设高质量“一带一路”,积极签订贸易投资协定,深化对外直接投资广度和深度。

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC)proposed to "promote world peace and development and foster the building of a community of human destiny". As a concrete practice for building a community of human destiny, can the "Belt and Road" Initiative promote common prosperity among participating countries? Based on multi period double difference method(DID) and tendency score matching double difference method(PSM-DID), this paper empirically tests the impact of the "Belt and Road" Initiative on regional and intra-country common prosperity and its impact mechanism. The results of the study find that the "Belt and Road" initiative has a significant effect on reducing the income gap between residents in the region and the income gap within the country. The robustness test verified the conclusion. The results of the heterogeneity test show that the "Belt and Road" Initiative has a greater effect on the countries on the Maritime Silk Road and countries with free trade agreements with China, and has less impact on the land Silk Road and non-FTA countries. The empirical results of the influence mechanism show that the influence effect of the trade channel is greater than that of the direct investment channel.Based on the above research conclusions, in order to better promote the "Belt and Road" initiative and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, we should continue to promote the construction of high-quality the "Belt and Road", actively sign trade and investment agreements, and deepen the breadth and depth of foreign direct investment.
