茧形壶研究

A Study on the Cocoon-shaped Pot

茧形壶是秦文化的标志性器物之一。本文收集已发表的茧形壶材料100余件,运用类型学方法,将其划分为两类四型和两期四段。茧形壶最早出现在关中和侯马地区,战国晚期以关中为中心向外传播,西汉时分布中心转移到徐州地区,西汉中期之后罕见。茧形壶的起源尚不清晰,应与周、晋文化因素有一定联系,也可能受外来文化影响。小口横长腹的形制决定了茧形壶是用于盛储的实用容器。茧形壶早期为日用陶器,晚期向陶礼器转变。

Cocoon-shaped pot is one type of the symbolic artifacts of Qin culture.In this paper,according to the published materials,over a hundred cocoon-shaped pots are divided into four types of two categories and four stages in two periods by typological methods.Cocoon-shaped pots first appeared in Guanzhong(the central Shaanxi plain)and Houma area.In the late Warring States period,they spread outward from Guanzhong as the center.In the Western Han dynasty,the distribution center had shifted to Xuzhou area,while this type of pots was rare after the middle of the Western Han dynasty.The origin of cocoon-shaped pot is not clear,which might be related to the cultural factors of Zhou and Jin dynasties or affected by external culture.The shape of small mouth and wide belly determines that the cocoon-shaped pot is a type of practical container for storage.The cocoon-shaped pot was a daily pottery in the early stage and then became a pottery ritual in the late stage.
