By exploring some undiscovered things and examining history and events, the article sorts out the origin of Yan Ao and Yan Gusheng’s book collection, outlines the trajectory of the modern private collection of ancient books, and reveals the transformation characteristics of the modern private book collecting group reflected behind the collection of ancient books.
