摘要
本文对中国管理案例研究40年来的发展历程进行了回顾、反思与展望。本文将中国管理案例研究的发展脉络划分为起步探索、快速成长和规范提升三个阶段。通过贡献者及其合作网络、研究主题和研究热点可视化分析,研究发现中国管理案例研究合作网络数量增长但相对分散,研究主题集中在知识管理、创新管理、公司治理与战略转型四大领域,研究热点具有明显的多样性、时代性和演进性等特征。本文从案例研究方法应用及研究选题两方面来剖析中国管理案例研究存在的不足,并针对案例研究方法的应用开发了中国管理案例研究理论构建的过程模型,识别出中国管理案例研究存在与参照理论对话不足、目标理论构建不规范等理论贡献不足、案例方法选择与研究问题不匹配、数据收集与分析中的信度与效度偏低等研究设计问题。中国管理案例研究也存在对中国管理情境的独特性、对具体研究内容的剖析深度及对研究现象背后的新情境探究不足等问题。针对中国管理案例研究中存在的关键问题,文章提出案例研究方法在应用中的具体建议,并基于对管理案例研究主题现状和研究不足的分析,进一步揭示了中国管理案例研究未来的五个重点研究方向。
This paper reviews the retrospection,reflection,and prospection of Chinese management case studies over the past four decades.Firstly,combining the application and development of case study method,this paper divides the development of Chinese management case studies into three stages as follows:exploration stage,growth stage,and standardization stage.Secondly,through the visual analysis of contributors and their cooperation networks,research topics,and research hotspots,it is found that the development status of Chinese management case studies has the following characteristics:the number of research cooperation networks of Chinese management case studies has increased but is relatively scattered;the research topics focus on four areas,namely,knowledge management,innovation management,corporate governance,and strategic transformation;and the research hotspots show obvious characteristics of diversity,phased and evolution.Thirdly,this paper analyzes the key issues of Chinese management case studies from the application of case study methods and research topics.For the application of case study methods,this paper reveals theoretical contribution problems(e.g.,insufficient dialogue with reference theories,non-standard construction of target theory),and research design problems(e.g.,the mismatch between the choice of case study method and the research question,and the low reliability and validity in the process of data collection and analysis)by building a framework for the process of theoretical construction of Chinese management case studies.For the research topic,This paper proposes that there are three research deficiencies of Chinese management case studies,that is,ignoring the uniqueness of China’s management situation,lack of in-depth analysis of the research content,and ignoring the exploration of the new situation behind the research phenomenon.Finally,this paper proposes specific suggestions for these issues regarding the application of case study method,and further explores five main research directions in the future based on the analysis of the current situation and research of Chinese management case studies.
