Social Capital, Cultural Identity and Labor Mobility

社会资本和文化认同存在差异和联系,并对劳动力流动产生多层次影响。将文化认同引入新迁移经济学研究框架,分析社会资本和文化认同对劳动力流动的独立、联合作用机理,研究二者在劳动力流动循环累积因果现象中的中介效应,采用2010、2014、2016、2018、2020年中国家庭追踪调查(CFPS)数据,通过logit模型、面板门槛模型和因变量为二元变量的修正中介效应模型进行实证研究。研究表明:较高水平的家庭社会资本和对本地区文化认同不足,共同推动劳动力迁出决策的产生。社会资本、文化认同的联合作用显著,并通过社区型和党群型影响促进了劳动力在迁入地的长期就业,同时二者对劳动力流动过程中循环累积因果效应起到显著但有周期长度差异的中介作用。

There exist differences and connections between social capital and cultural identity, both of which have a multi-level influence on labor mobility. By introducing cultural identity into the research framework of new migration economics, this study analyzes the independent and joint action mechanism of social capital and cultural identity on labor mobility, explores the intermediary effect of the two factors in the cyclic cumulative causality of labor mobility, and by adopting the data of China Family Panel Studies(CFPS) in 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020, conducts an empirical research by using the logit model, panel threshold model and modified intermediary effect model with dependent variables as binary variables. The research results show that the higher level of family social capital and the lack of regional cultural identity jointly promote the generation of labor emigration decisions;the combination of social capital and cultural identity has a significant effect and promotes the long-term employment of the labor force in the immigration place through the community-type and Party-mass type influence;and meanwhile the two factors play a significant intermediary role in the cyclic cumulative causal effect in the process of labor mobility, but there is a difference in the cycle length.
