Michael Heizer was just 27 years old when he began work on his masterpiece City.Now,50 years later,the American artist is finally ready to show his life’s work.The 1.5-mile-long complex1,which cost$40 million to build,opened to the public on September 2,2022.It is possibly the largest contemporary2 artwork on the planet.City is made entirely of inexpensive materials-concrete3 and rock mined on site.
