The Sociological Significance of Annie Ernaux’s Works

从文学社会学层面来看,安妮·埃尔诺的作品是某些社会学议题在文学中的具象表达。她将社会学理论和方法运用于文学创作,把自己的亲身经历作为写作题材;在勾画一个平民家庭出身的女孩成功实现人生改变和社会升迁轨迹的同时,以接近客观主义的写作手法展示平民阶层与中产阶层之间的精神对立与互动。埃尔诺用文学的形式记录下整整一代人的回忆,由己及人地在创作中始终对社会弱势群体给予社会学观照,反映社会矛盾和时代的变迁。作者以文学活动介入和干预政治与社会生活,由此彰显自由、平等的价值观,创作出一种介于“文学、社会学和历史之间”的文本。

From the perspective of literary sociology, Annie Ernaux’ works can be regarded as a concrete expression of some sociological issues in literature. Applying sociological theories and methods to literary creation and using her own experience as writing themes, she sketched the trajectory for a girl(from a civilian family) who successfully achieved life change and social advancement. With a writing technique close to objectivism, Annie Ernaux showed the spiritual confrontation and interaction between the civilian class and the middle class. Relaying on a true love for her parents, she recorded the memories of a whole generation, realized a social observation for disadvantaged groups and reflected social reality and historical changes in the form of literature. The author intervened social life with literary activities, highlighted her notions of freedom, and equality and created a sort of text “between literature, sociology and history”.
