Commentary on the Style and First Draft of the “Gusu Engraving” Started by Imperial Painters in the Qing Dynasty

“姑苏版”开启了民间版画运用“泰西笔法”的序章,具有清宫廷画院恢宏华美的画风特色。文章以“姑苏版”经典的城市全景图和美人图为例证进行分析研究,并对同时期清宫廷画家的作品与“姑苏版”进行比较分析,认为“姑苏版”样式为清宫廷画家所创造,清宫廷画家也是“姑苏版”最初画稿的绘制者。

“Gusu engraving”opens the prelude to the use of “West brushwork” in folk engraving, and has the characteristics of the magnificent and beautiful style of Imperial painting of the Qing dynasty. The article analyzes and studies the classic city panorama and beauty pictures of the “Gusu engraving” as examples, and compares and analyzes the works of imperial painters of the Qing dynasty and the “Gusu engraving” in the same period.The author believes that the style of “Gusu engraving”was created by the imperial painters of the Qing Dynasty, who were also the creators of the original sketch of the “Gusu engraving”.
