从民国时期的南洋游记看中国文化与国民性

Chinese Culture and National Character Reflected by Nanyang Travel Notes during the Republic of China

晚清以来,在西方物质文化和思想文化的冲击下,不少人对中国文化和国民性都有着非常深刻的探讨,对中国人自身的剖析是十分深刻的。但是,随着时代和环境变化,对国民性的剖析,对中国文化的思考,也逐渐发生改变。作为华侨众多且为西方殖民地的南洋地区,华人、土人和欧美人在此处交会,在这个复杂多元的社会中,不同文化在此处有着不同程度的碰撞,在这种无形的对比中,中国文化中的先进与落后,国民性中的优与劣,通过民国时期的南洋游记更加清晰地展现出来,也反映着当时知识分子的思想文化。

Some scholars have explored Chinese culture and national character under the impact of western material culture and ideological culture since the late Qing Dynasty, but changes in analysis on national character and rethinking of Chinese culture also have occurred with changes of the times and the environment. Chinese, natives, Europeans and Americans lived together in Southeast Asia, a former western colony with a large number of overseas Chinese. In this complex and diverse society, different cultures collided into each other. Nanyang Travel Notes during the Republic of China reflected the advanced and backward aspects of Chinese culture as well as the superiority and inferiority of national character, and reflected the ideology and culture of the intellectuals at that time.
