Approaches to cultivate translation talents in external publicity under the background of “Telling China stories better”

“讲好中国故事,传播好中国声音”,需要大量的优秀外宣翻译人才。培养外宣翻译人才,要有顶层设计,对学科和专业重新定位,把外宣翻译人才培养纳入培养方案中,课程设置要交叉融合。在外宣翻译课程教学中,要通过课程思政培养学生敏锐的政治意识和正确的价值导向,精选课程教学内容,通过案例教学凸显外宣翻译融通策略知识,通过翻译工作坊提升学生翻译能力。

“Telling China’s stories well and spreading China’s voices well” requires a large number of excellent external publicity translation talents. It is necessary to have a top-level design to cultivate external publicity translation talents, reposition disciplines and majors, incorporate the cultivation of external publicity translation talents into the training program and the curriculum should be integrated. In the teaching of the course of external publicity translation, we should cultivate students’ sharp political awareness and correct value orientation through ideological and political education of courses, carefully select the course content, highlight the knowledge of reader-oriented strategy of external publicity translation through case teaching, and improve students’ translation practice ability through translation workshops.
